Ashtavinayak Farms singularly focuses on leveraging the god given rich soil, topography, and climate of the Konkan region. Marrying that with large scale science based agricultural methods, Ashtavinayak Farms strives to grow the world’s most delicious fruits. You may be hard pressed to find more serious farmers anywhere else in the region.
Nearly thirty years after it’s inception, Ashtavinayak Farms cultivates over eight thousand trees and yields one hundred metric tonnes of fruits annually.
The force behind Ashtavinayak Farms
Meet Ravi and Dr. Gayatri Sirur… the visionaries behind Ashtavinayak Farms. Senior corporate executives living in Mumbai, they always lamented the plight of rural farmers compelled to migrate to large metros like Mumbai to earn a meagre substandard livelihood. They dreamt of stemming that tide in their own way while creating a better, richer, and more fruitful alternative.
This vision back in the late 1990s was the genesis of Ashtavinayak Farms… a unique large-scale farming project designed to provide a financially rewarding and empowering employment opportunity, especially for the often-neglected women.
All the cliched trappings of globally successful careers, corporate board seats, hyper- urbanized lifestyles etc. pale in comparison to the joy and satisfaction Ravi and Gayatri revel in, seeing Ashtavinayak Farms grow into the large-scale resounding success.
Ashtavinayak Farms has always been, and will always be, the truest embodiment of Ravi and Gayatri’s ‘passion project’.
