In addition to nurturing the flora and fauna within Ashtavinayak Farms, we strive everyday to enhance the lives of everyone who comes in touch with the farm and its products.
Environmental Impact
Our steadfast commitment to sustainable farming processes focuses on preserving important natural resources while fundamentally rethinking modern farming.
Water Conservation
Our water conservation projects significantly preserve water throughout the year. Large scale water bunds, underground drip irrigation networks, etc have worked to raise the natural water table level within the farm. Today, Ashtavinayak Farm’s wells get abundant fresh water daily, even during the harshest days of summer. This is a rare accomplishment within the hilly and rocky regions of Konkan.
Bio- Diversity
Our bio-diversity initiatives include actions undertaken to increase the natural resilience of trees within the farm. These include strategic planting of diverse tree species to allow healthy cross pollination while preventing rampant spread of parasites. Similarly, steps are taken to ensure the natural wildlife on the farm are not harmed or injured during regular farm activities.
No tree left behind!
Trees are Ashtavinayak Farm’s greatest asset. We undertake every effort to ensure they are protected at any cost. This has sometimes meant drastic actions of repositioning structures oreven extremely choreographed and technical relocation of impacted trees. Basically… we will leave no tree behind!
Social Impact
Ashtavinayak Farms is committed to creating a positive impact within its local community. An example can be witnessed in the support of local women through employment opportunities within the farm. Every year over one hundred women find seasonal work in food processing, fruit packaging, etc, to support their families.
Another area of commitment is supporting local primary education for children. Contributions to the local primary school have helped children of Ashtavinayak Farms employees, as well as other local children, gain abetter quality of education.
